God's Will

Nov 9, 2025    Pastor Joey Baynes

This powerful message cuts through our comfortable Christianity to reveal a truth many of us avoid: we often know God's will but lack the willingness to follow it. Drawing from Psalm 32:8 where God promises to instruct and counsel us, we're reminded that our loving Father isn't playing cosmic hide-and-seek with His plans for our lives. Instead, He's given us clear direction through His Word. The sermon tackles three fundamental aspects of God's will for every believer: salvation for all people, sanctification or holy living set apart from worldly values, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. What makes this message particularly convicting is its honest confrontation with sexual immorality and other sins that have become normalized in our culture. We're challenged to see sin the way God sees it—not as something to flirt with but to flee from. The question posed is searingly direct: Are we broken over our sin, or merely busted when caught? This distinction between godly sorrow and worldly sorrow marks the difference between true repentance and mere regret. When we regard sin in our hearts and confess it, we create space for the Holy Spirit to fill us with power for kingdom living. The call isn't to perfection but to continuous surrender, acknowledging that God's way is always best even when it's not easy.
